CALL FOR APPLICATIONS: The Manetti Shrem California Studio Teaching Artists in Residence - Fall 2023 & Spring 2024
The Department of Art and Art History at the University of California, Davis is pleased to invite applications for two Teaching Artists in Residence in The Manetti Shrem California Studio. We encourage artists to apply who work in all disciplines, traditional or non-traditional, especially those who focus on drawing, painting, print and their expanded practices. The program welcomes artists who conduct original research and pursue unique artistic inquiries. We support artists who seek to incorporate the vast resources of the university into the classroom. Visiting artists teach an upper division art studio class and a graduate seminar, deliver a public lecture, and further their creative work and/or research while on campus.
Jan Shrem and Maria Manetti Shrem’s visionary gift provides funding for salary and benefits, as well as travel and academic creative enrichment funds. Visiting artists are given a studio space and the opportunity to develop further their art practice in the community of students, other visiting artists and faculty members.
